I have an 8hp briggs on a pull behind tiller, smokes and uses oil what would be the best fix for longevity ?
Steve, The easiest fix would be to replace the engine. However, if your mechanically inclined, you may be able to overhaul the engine providing it’s not too badly worn out. Generally speaking, if it needs to be bored and the crank need to be turned, your better off in the long run to replace it. As a rule if it’s that worn, all of the other aspects of the engine from the carb throttle shaft to the crank main bearings, will be worn. Joe
